M’sian Allegedly Harassed by 2 Police Officers at Subang Perdana Urged by PDRM to File a Report

A video has been making rounds online, showing 2 police officers inspecting a motorcycle at a petrol station in Subang Perdana, with the incident captured on CCTV.

According to Harian Metro, crime prevention patrol officers from the Kampung Baru Subang Police Station approached a motorcycle parked at the station, allegedly “harassing” its owner.

“Thanks for making things difficult for us”

The motorcycle owner recorded the aftermath and uploaded it alongside CCTV footage to his TikTok account, where the videos quickly went viral.

In the video, he shared how, during the inspection, the officers allegedly pulled out the tube and twisted the throttle cable, causing it to malfunction.

The caption of the post reads,

“Thank you police officers for making things difficult for us. You had no right to pull out the tube, and you twisted the throttle cable so much that it couldn’t be turned. Thanks a lot.”

“The recording could affect the image of PDRM”

In a statement, Sungai Buloh District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor clarified that vehicle inspections are a routine task for all crime prevention patrol officers in the field.

“In the recording, crime prevention patrol officers from the Kampung Baru Subang Police Station approached a motorcycle parked at the petrol station.”

Reports indicate that the circulation of this recording has negatively impacted the image of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), particularly the District Police Headquarters (IPD) in Sungai Buloh.

Police have advised the public not to release videos without validity

Following the incident, the owner of the motorcycle was asked to come forward and make a report at any nearby police station to assist the investigation.

In light of this, the police have advised not to release any statements and video recordings that may lower the image of the PDRM without validity.

“Those who do so can be subject to action according to Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988,” said Hafiz.
