During a #JusticeforZara rally, former celebrity turned political activist Rafidah Ibrahim injected politics into her speech, transforming what was meant to be a solidarity parade for Zara Qairina into a political rally calling for change in Sabah.

Netizens, unimpressed by the shift in narrative, criticised her for using the platform to push her political agenda ahead of the upcoming Sabah State Election (PRN).

“You heard this yourself. This video was taken during the Solidarity for Zara program. She used the platform to advocate for political change in Sabah during the next PRN.”

“How dare you bring politics into this? The platform was meant to seek justice for Zara, but you used it to promote a different narrative,” said a netizen.

However, public opinion was divided as some supported her, saying she was focused on a broader issue:

“Stay true to your path. Keyboard warriors will say anything to discredit you. You know you’re doing the right thing.”

Others were less than impressed. One user condemned her and said,

“This is the real ‘face’ of Rafidah—a person who stirs chaos and sows hatred. I’m part of the silent majority. If this is how she behaves and would govern, I want the current government to stay. I refuse to support anyone who uses inappropriate platforms to push a political agenda.”

There’s a time and place for everything, isn’t there?
