Many public transport users have been avidly waiting for the Putrajaya MRT line to be completed.

If you are one of them, we come bearing good news as Phase 2 of the Putrajaya MRT Line will be open starting 3pm on 16 March.

MRT Corp announced the news on 3rd March on Facebook while Transport Minister Anthony Loke also announced it later in the night in an interview with BERNAMA.

He said that the decision to open up Phase 2 of the line was decided after the post-Cabinet meeting with the agencies involved, “This evening, I received the latest briefing from the MRT Corp, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), and we are satisfied with all the tests carried out.”

“I can announce tonight that the MRT2 service will begin at 3pm on March 16. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will launch it on March 16 morning.”

He also expresses confidence that the government’s initiatives will attract more Malaysians to utilise the public transport services offered.

Phase 1 of this project (from Damansara Damai to Kampung Batu) was completed and began operation on 16 June 2022.
