Traders will be rewarded RM3 for each rat

MPAJ said the reward aims to encourage community involvement in creating a cleaner environment in Ampang, especially around the Pekan Ampang Market and its surrounding areas.

“A cash reward of RM3 for each rat caught will be given to individuals who capture rats at the Pekan Ampang Market and nearby areas.”

They noted that the also aims to prevent rat breeding, as well as to help curb rodent-borne diseases like leptospirosis.

“This initiative aligns with the third and eleventh goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are good health and sustainable cities and communities. It aims to raise public awareness on the importance of maintaining a clean environment, preventing rat breeding, and helping curb rodent-borne diseases like leptospirosis.”
