For the longest time ever, Malaysians have been asking the Ministry of Health (MOH) to give more information on where some clusters’ whereabouts are.
This time around, the ministry has finally relented and has decided to give us more information on where the clusters are so that we can arrange our logistics better. The infographics along with the press releases will allow Malaysians to know which street or neighbourhood the specific cluster is located at. For example, take a look at this screenshot:
The Jalan Selayang cluster in Gombak was discovered on 13 January and it had originated from a supermarket located on Jalan Selayang Baru.
Up until 14 January, 511 workers in that supermarket have been tested and 84 of them are Covid-19 positive.
Out of the seven new clusters detected on 14 January, five of them were related to the workplace while one was in a detention centre. Another one resulted from interstate travel.
Up until now, there have been 623 clusters have been reported in Malaysia. From this number, 347 clusters have ended, leaving 276 clusters that are still active.
Please stay at home if you are able to do so. If you need to go out, be sure to abide by the SOPs set by the government to protect yourselves and your loved ones. Together (figuratively) we can break the chain of infection.
