The Ministry of Education (KPM) has just released the new guidelines for school attire this morning (January 19), so here’s what you can expect to wear, dear students!

According to the live broadcast shared on KPM’s Facebook profile, students are expected to go:

  • 2 days in full school uniform
  • 2 days in sports attire, and
  • 1 day in co-curricular clothes

The matter was informed by the Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek when she spoke at the KPM’s New Year 2024 Mandate Council today.

The new attire arrangement starts in March (the 2024/2025 academic year).

Fadhlina informed the media that a circular letter and further information regarding the usage instructions would be issued later.

Before this, parents all over the country were racking their heads about the rules of student uniforms as the next session of school is expected to start in March.

“The rulings & guidelines are important since parents need to make preparations and financial needs as Ramadhan also falls on the same month.”

Fadhlina also said the decision was made after consulting with stakeholders including parents, teachers, and the community.

“Their views were very significant in our decision to continue the usage of school uniforms.”

The Ministry of Education has previously given flexibility to students in October 2021 as soon as the school session opens after almost 2 years of being closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Throughout the past year, the same leniency continued.

To all students and parents, what do you think of this attire arrangment?
