Michelin Guide is probably one of the most prestigious culinary guides that a chef can hope to be mentioned in.
On 21 October, the reputable site posted a Facebook post mentioning Malaysian chefs who have helped the restaurants they are working in/own to earn distinguished Michelin stars.
In their article posted earlier this year, they highlight 7 chefs who are working in restaurants around the world, they are: Toraik Chua, Levin Lau, Mano Thevar, Lee Kok Hau, Kwen Liew, Andy Toh and Bernard Yeoh.
These chefs come from the various states in Malaysia such as Kedah, Penang, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.
With these diverse backgrounds, they translate their memories and experiences through their hands into the food and culinary masterpieces that they create.
Many of them also note that they prefer using Malaysian ingredients in the food that they craft, giving it a touch of home which makes the dishes as unique as their creators.
Their stories and experiences working at top and highly respectable restaurants overseas definitely cannot be condensed into a short article, so, we highly recommend you check their stories out on the website to properly appreciate them.
These chefs are definitely Malaysia’s pride and will serve as role models for the young home cooks!
