The Malaysian Meteorological Department reported that earlier today at 2.04pm, a minor earthquake hit Sabah, affecting areas around Ranau.
The earthquake reportedly hit at the coordinate 6.0° North and 116.7° East, with the magnitude of 2.8 Richter scale within the distance of 2km Southeast from Ranau, Sabah. This earthquake happened approximately 5km below ground.
The department also issued a thunderstorm warning in the other areas of Sabah & Sarawak that is forecasted to last until January 2nd.
