The body of the second Covid-19 death reported in Malaysia has been successfully interred, according to Bernama. In footage obtained by the news agency, the burial process of the second victim to die from Covid-19, a 34-year-old man from Johor, was captured on camera, showing the meticulous steps taken by local healthcare workers to ensure that the man’s body was safely interred in its burial site.

The victim’s body arrived at Hospital Sultanah Aminah on 17th March 2020 at 8.16 pm, before being transported to the burial ground at 8.45 pm. Roughly 10 men dressed in full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits were seen at the cemetery moving the body from the transportation van to the burial site.

No members of family or the media were allowed to approach the burial site up close, until the burial was complete.

The deceased was revealed to have been suffering from symptoms of Covid-19 on 5th March 2020, and was receiving treatment at Hospital Permai, Johor Bahru on 12th March 2020 after he tested positive for Covid-19. His condition worsened before he passed away on the 17th March 2020.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and hope that he will be able to rest in peace.
