A 20-year-old student was found murdered with blunt force trauma to the head at a condominium in Cyberjaya, Selangor, on Tuesday (June 24). Several of her personal belongings, including her ATM card, were reported missing.

Shortly after her death, police detected five to six withdrawal transactions made using the victim’s card at various locations around the capital city.

The deceased’s family suffered another loss

Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman, confirmed that three suspects, a man and two women (aged 19 and 20), were arrested within 48 hours of the police report being lodged.

The arrests took place in Johor Bahru, Johor, and Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan, in the past two days.

Following the breakthrough, the victim’s uncle shared that the family suffered another heartbreaking loss just three days after Manisha’s death.

In an interview with Harian Metro, Datuk Rajpal Singh said the family is placing full trust in the police to handle the investigation.

“We were shocked by the loss of another family member this morning. I haven’t had the chance to speak to the investigating officer yet, as I’ve been busy with funeral arrangements. I’m grateful and fully entrust the police to carry out their investigation,” he said.

“She came to help with Manisha’s funeral”

While the arrests brought a slight sense of relief, Rajpal shared that the family is still in mourning after losing another loved one.

He revealed that a 57-year-old female cousin, who had travelled from Johor Bahru to assist with funeral arrangements, passed away around 3 AM after complaining of shortness of breath. Her body will be brought to the crematorium on Jalan Loke Yew, the same place where Manisha’s final rites were held the day before.

“I received a call saying she wasn’t feeling well and needed to be taken to the hospital. Sadly, she was later pronounced dead. I’m not sure of the exact cause, but it may have been due to exhaustion and stress,” he said.
