A 32-year-old father allegedly raped his own daughter on her 13th birthday because he had no money to buy her a present, reported The Sun.

The man from Chipaya, Bolivia told his wife that he wanted to spend time alone with his daughter to celebrate her birthday and waited for his wife to leave the house before raping his daughter as a “present”.

His wife caught him attacking the girl and called the police despite receiving threats from the man. He was then arrested on 4th October.

When he was being questioned by the police, he claimed that he “did not have enough money to buy the girl a present” so he decided to “give her his own gift”.

As the investigation continues, the man remains in custody while the girl is receiving psychological support.

“There was a sexual aggression against a 13-year-old girl and the sad thing is that the suspect is her father who took advantage of the victim while he was alone with her,” Oruro Equal Opportunities official Carmen Miranda told local media.

What kind of father would think of doing such a thing to his daughter? Hopefully the girl will be able to recover from this traumatic experience and get all the emotional support she needs.
