What a horrifying end to a short life!
According to the SCMP, a man who killed a lady by throwing her off the 19th floor of an apartment building recently stood trial in court last Wednesday (23rd August).
The 27-year-old man from Hangzhou, China, was reportedly infatuated with the lady for 8 years prior to her tragic death. He had reportedly been interested in her since they were high school classmates.
The pair grew closer when he left China to study in the United States, which was when they began contacting each other more often and she would update him about her life.
However, the lady didn’t accept his romantic advances, saying that they needed to know each other well first. He continued to try to win her over by buying the lady expensive gifts like designer handbags and jewellery.
In January this year, he reportedly moved back to Hangzhou, presumably to be closer to her. From that point, the two of them became housemates, along with one of the lady’s colleagues.
One day, their relationship became strained when he found a framed photo of the lady with another man on her bedside table.
“I’ve pursued her for eight years and she had never agreed to take a picture with me,” he told the court.
The night before the lady’s death, he told the court he overheard her talking about him on the phone, saying that she knew he was after her but found him unlikeable.
“I couldn’t sleep that night and felt very pained.”
Local police reportedly found that the man had searched “suicide” and “sentence for murder” prior to the lady’s death.
The following morning, the man stormed into her room, picked her up and threw her off the balcony of their apartment, which was on the 19th floor.
Currently, the verdict has yet to be announced.
We hope that this man gets the appropriate punishment he deserves. Regardless of what either of them said or did in the past, there is no excuse for murder.
