Due to wanting a shortcut to get to work, a foreign man decided to trespass onto an LRT track to cross over on Wednesday morning (August 6).

According to a report by Kosmo, the Dang Wangi Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, stated that his department received a report regarding the incident at 10:11am, from a Prasarana auxiliary police officer.

He explained that an unknown individual had trespassed onto the Masjid Jamek station’s LRT track on the Ampang line, and crossed from platform 1 to platform 2.

“The complainant then immediately went to the location and managed to arrest the suspect before taking him to the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters for further action,”

“Initial investigations found that the suspect’s purpose for trespassing onto the LRT tracks was to take a shortcut to his workplace,” he said.

The suspect also apparently failed to produce valid identification documentation when requested by the police.

This case is now being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63

“The public is advised not to break the law and do things that could endanger themselves and others, including trespassing into gazetted prohibited areas,” Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman added.
