The CCTV footage showing a man getting physical with his wife recently went viral on social media.

In a video originally shared by @vhiras5_ on Instagram, the angry man was seen in the recording pulling his wife’s hijab (headscarf for Muslim women), and according to the caption, the wife wanted lipstick but the man refused to pay for it.

The pair was already at the counter, preparing to pay for their items until the wife decided to add lipstick to the list, which upset her husband.

The woman allegedly got upset and wanted to leave the store but was stopped by her husband who pulled on her hijab until it came off.

The pair continued to fight about the matter at the store. Both cashiers at the counter witnessed the entire ordeal but did not dare to stop the couple, who eventually left the store empty-handed.

The incident took place on September 1 at a store in Indonesia.

“If he could do that in public, what about behind closed doors?”

Social media users were not happy to see how the woman was treated, and many left comments to highlight that a woman should never be treated that way.

“Men like this are funny. Your wife can’t be pretty but you’re busy looking at other beautiful women.”

“If he can do this in public, he can definitely do the same at home.”

“Even if you’re poor, don’t get physical.”

“This is not about if women should earn some money. This is about looking for a man who can love and appreciate his partner for the way she is, regardless if she’s making any money or not.”

“The man probably didn’t have enough money, but it’s still not a reason to treat your wife that way.”

“Imagine the things he could do behind closed doors if he could do this in public. To those who are in a relationship, please love your partner, not oppress them.”

It’s not difficult, and certainly not taxing to cheer up your partner.
