To embody Malaysian culture within the Adidas brand, two local artists, Jun Ong and Jaemy Choong, were brought in to spread their creativity within the store’s space.

According to Pamper.my, the two artists express their fashion design creativity via a localised viewpoint, along interpreting the brand through the interior and exterior fixtures with a Malaysian twist.

“When you gaze at the Adidas Trefoil logo from far, it is as though the traditional Wau Bulan is flying high in the sky. Taking inspiration from Adidas’ rich archives, the colourful lighting within the logo represents the shoe-laces, truly interpreting Adidas as a brand that is always evolving and reinventing itself,” Jun Ong said in an exclusive interview with Pamper.my.

“You will notice local traditional art influence twirling with the Adidas fashion; you can feel the authentic Malaysian style within the art; you may also spot the brush calligraphy that may or may not look like a familiar word, that’s the thrilling part of my artwork,” Jaemy Choong on the other hand, integrates fine floral elements to the Wau Bulan design as well as the floor and cash desk of the storefront with his iconic calligraphy brush technique inspiration from Malaysia’s traditional Batik craft, according to Pamper.my.

Customised Batik Design will also be printed on Adidas shopping bags exclusively at this store, as a special honour to Malaysian art and the creativity of collaborated artists.

Customers who spend RM500 and above will receive a Batik imprinted Trefoil logo Adidas tote bag to celebrate the opening of the new store, from 1 July 2020 onwards, while stock lasts.

Safety measures such as the limitation of the capacity of customers in the store, will be taken on that day.
