A seditious viral video circulating online provoked the anger of Malaysians recently, showing a man in China, believed to be a Chinese national, using the Malaysian flag to wash a motorcycle.
The video was originally posted by @tbheng_18, a Malaysian student from Sabah studying in China, on TikTok but has since been deleted.
However, the video was reshared by many Malaysian public social media pages, including this viral post by @update11111 on X (formerly Twitter) with over 895,000 views.
A man in China using the Malaysian flag to wash a motorcycle
At the start of the video, a man can be seen holding the Jalur Gemilang at an undisclosed location in China, where several people can be seen washing their motorcycles.
The man then folded the Malaysian flag before using it to wash a motorcycle. On the overlaid text of the now-deleted video, @tbheng_18 wrote,
“A China national using the Jalur Gemilang to wash his motorcycle?!”

The original poster said that the video was recorded to report the man to his school in China
Following the video going viral, @tbheng_18 posted a follow-up video clarifying that he is not the individual seen in the video using the Jalur Gemilang to wash the motorcycle.
Rather, the individual was a China national, and @tbheng_18 stressed that he is a Malaysian who loves his country.
He added that he recorded the video to report the individual’s action to his school in China and that he had told the individual to stop and return the Jalur Gemilang.
@tbheng_18 said that the school has since taken action against the individual by seizing his motorcycle.
This explanation video is also no longer available on @tbheng_18’s TikTok page as of the time of writing.
