The @MsianInciter X page recently shared images of what appears to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, smoking a cigarette while at an eatery in Rantau, Negeri Sembilan.

They wrote, “I thought that eateries were no-smoking zones? But when the Minister of Foreign Affairs goes back to his area, he’s casually smoking at an eatery.”

A quick check on the Minister of Foreign Affairs’s Facebook page showed that he had posted a photo of himself with the same people seen in the viral post and at the same eatery. However, in the Minister’s post, he did not have a cigarette in his hand.

Smoke 3

@MsianInciter also tagged the Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, and his Ministry in their post.

Well, the Minister of Health has responded.

While sharing @MsianInciter’s post, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad pointed out that nobody is above the law.

Smoke 2

He wrote, “After Act 852 (Control of Smoking Products for the Health of the People Act, 2024) came into effect last October 1, I hold to the principle that ‘no one is above the law’.”

However, it was left unclear whether action has been taken against the Minister of Foreign Affairs for allegedly smoking at the restaurant.

What do you think about this? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
