Since the start of the Movement Control Order on 18 March, the majority of responsible Malaysians have been limiting their movement, practising social distancing and staying put at home. For a busy society, this can be challenging because we are so accustomed to the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. However, some of us managed to find a way to interact, have fun but still maintain a safe distance with each other.

Akin to the community in Italy, a video has gone viral recently, showing a few blocks of apartments singing together at night. The video was shared by Shauna Joan which was taken by herself as she is currently living there as well. She wrote,

“Our neighbour putting on a live show! During these trying times, it’s important to spread a little joy and positivity. Stay at home, anak-anak Malaysia! We got this!”

The best part of the video is that everyone was singing and dancing along to one of the most iconic patriotic song ever, “Saya Anak Malaysia”.
