Study: Malaysians Eat the Most Chicken in Southeast Asia, 50kg per Person per Year!

Chicken itself is tasty when cooked well, and it pairs wonderfully with various cuisines from around the world. Our love for chicken has once again earned us a spot in the rankings!

According to a recent update from Seasia Stats, Malaysia has taken the lead in the highest per capita consumption of chicken meat in Southeast Asia.

Malaysia takes the win!

Based on 2020 data from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Malaysia tops the list with a chicken meat consumption rate of 50.5kg per person per year.

Following closely is Singapore, securing 2nd place with 36kg, while Myanmar takes 3rd place with 29.9kg.
