It’s pretty common to find students burning the midnight oil to study in cafes and fast food joints, but not everyone finds it very considerate because a lot of study groups tend to hog tables and other customers can’t find a place to sit down. Now, it looks like students have also started going over to FamilyMart for their study sessions!
Earlier this morning (8th January), a Malaysian netizen took to Twitter to voice her dissatisfaction with how some students have been occupying tables at FamilyMart with their books.
It appears that this isn’t the first instance of students taking up way more space than needed at this convenience store, as other netizens have voiced their frustration over this issue. Some also voiced their disapproval, calling these students inconsiderate for hogging seats for hours on end.
Others claimed that most of these students prefer studying at these places as an excuse to socialise and eat. However, some did point out that students typically congregate in eateries because there may not be enough facilities like libraries where they can study.
On the other hand, some pointed out that this still wasn’t an excuse to hog tables, listing out other, perhaps more appropriate places where students could study instead.
Well, while we do understand why students prefer studying at cafes or convenience stores, they should also be more considerate and make sure they’re not taking up too much space and preventing other customers from getting a place to sit down!
