A viral video posted on TikTok shocked social media users in Malaysia recently as it shows an eerie scene of a decomposing body inside a Proton Wira parked inside a popular mall in Kuala Lumpur. 

Shared by a Malaysian man named Rizwan Kamarulzaman, the video has been viewed over 2.6 million times as of the time of writing.

In a series of videos shared on his TikTok account, Rizwan revealed that he went to the mall to celebrate his wife’s birthday.

He then noticed a foul smell coming from the Proton Wira, which was parked beside his vehicle inside the mall’s parking facilities.

Rizwan also found liquid dripping from inside the car and decided to investigate.

To his shock, he saw the hand of a decomposing body and immediately alerted the mall’s security department. A police report was also made for further action.

Rizwan said that he was deeply affected by the harrowing experience and that the smell of the decomposing body still haunts his mind.

 

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has since issued a statement on the incident

Following the video going viral, Dang Wangi District Police Chief ACP Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman issued a statement to address the viral incident.

He was quoted by Harian Metro as saying that while the video was recently posted on social media, the incident actually took place in January.

Silizmie asserted,

“The incident is an old incident that took place in January and a police report was received at 5.07pm on 25 January.

“The investigation was conducted by the Dang Wangi District Police assisted by the forensic team of the Kuala Lumpur Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID),”

The Dang Wangi District Police Chief further revealed that the body was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for autopsy, which found no criminal element. Moreover, the case has been classified as sudden death. 

Sulizmie hence advised the public to always check the authenticity of information read on social media and to refrain from issuing comments that could offend the victim’s family.
