As Malaysians, we love to gather with our friends at cafes and mamaks for a chit-chatting session that can last for hours, until late at night.
This Malaysian girl who recently went to Sri Petaling for a gathering with her friends encountered a scary experience that she shared on Facebook.
“Please be careful if you frequently go to Sri Petaling’s Moonlight cafe or the surrounding areas. Last Saturday, at around 9.00pm, I went to meet my friends at Moonlight cafe. We parked our car at the parking lot opposite Moonlight at quite a secluded spot, because there were not many spaces left.”
“We came down from the car and my brother clicked on the button to lock the car doors but there was no reaction from the key fob, so we thought that it had ran out of battery. We left the cafe at around 1.00am and headed home, but halfway there, we realised that one of our car tyres had a puncture.”
“For safety reasons, my brother pulled over at the BHP petrol station to check on the tyre. We were baffled by the puncture, as my brother had just pumped air into his tyres a few hours ago and it was fine then. Because it was getting really late, he quickly took out the spare tyre to change it. There were also many motorists who passed by, it was really scary, so both of us girls were on high alert.”
“But unfortunately, the spare tyre was not usable either, however we finally managed to settle everything and reached home safely at around 3.00am. It was then my brother thought that there was something fishy about the whole incident.
She revealed how their tyre looked like it was slashed by a blade, and recalls hearing another vehicle’s engine starting up nearby their car.
What’s more suspicious was that their key fob was functioning well once they reached home.
“We suspect that someone probably used a remote control signal jammer to stop us from locking our car properly as they wanted to steal our car. But because they couldn’t do so, they punctured our tyre and waited for us to realised it before getting into the car, so they could take the opportunity to rob us while changing the tyre. “
“Remember to be careful and take care of your personal safety always! Make sure your car is properly locked and regularly check your spare tyre to make sure it is usable. Also, if your car encounters any breakdowns, drive to a brightly lit place with many people before resolving the issue. Luckily, we reached home in one piece.”
It’s a dangerous world out there. Always be careful!
