Malaysians are known to migrate out of this country. In 2016, it was reported by Daily Express that about 10,000 Malaysians migrate to Australia on a yearly basis.

However, it’s not as bad as most would think it is.

Malaysia truly Asia…

According to World Atlas‘ February 1, 2017 report, Malaysia ranked 6th best nation in Asia to be born in, and 36th worldwide.

We came out on top of other more ‘advanced’ or developed countries such as China, Thailand and Turkey.

We have a diverse mix of culture thanks to the many ethnicity that shares this land which we call home. We have an amazing blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Kadazan, Iban, Peranakan, and many more to form Malaysia.

For real though, Malaysia is such an awesome country. We have some of the best foods in the world where we can’t really get elsewhere.

Even though Singapore and Indonesia may claim their food is better than ours, deep down inside, they know Malaysian food is still the best.

The where-to-be-born index analysed 80 countries and tested to see if they could give the highest quality of life to the citizens. Some of the factors taken into account were health, safety, and prosperity for the future of the country.

Although the top countries are European countries, many Asian countries also scored pretty well in this index.

The top Asian countries are of course Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and more.

But the most surprising country to be named a terrible nation to be born in was Indonesia as many have found many similarities between their countries and ours.

So, Malaysia isn’t such a bad country after all, eh? We need to be more appreciative of all the good things we have here.
