The 2024 Paris Olympics is set to take place on July 26 and we’re excited to see just how far our local athletes will go!

Though, unfortunately, it looks like Malaysia won’t be participating in many tournaments.

According to a report by BFM News, Malaysia might be sending one of it’s smallest teams of athletes to the 2024 Paris Olympics due to many of our athletes not qualifying.

Olympics 1

It appears that only 5 athletes have qualified so far, namely:

  • Ariana Nur Dania Zairi (recurve archer)
  • Nur Aisyah Md Zubir (road cyclist)
  • Bertrand Rhodict Lises (diver)
  • Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif (sailor)
  • Johnathan Wong (shooter)

This is a stark contrast to the 30 Malaysian athletes that represented our country for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

What do you think about this? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
