If you’re in the middle of job hunting, we found one place you can try your luck!

According to Free Malaysia Today, Malaysia Airlines Bhd is looking for loads of new employees, three years after laying off 6,000 of their staff back in 2015.

The airline reportedly has openings for 12 different jobs under these departments;

  • Aircraft crew (i.e. captain, first officer, cabin crew)
  • Fleet manager
  • Airline security
  • Finance
  • Operations research
  • Customer service

According to The Edge Markets, Malaysia Airlines sent the news portal a statement addressing the new job openings, which reads,

“Malaysia Airlines recently began a recruitment drive for pilots and cabin crew to fulfil current operational needs. Since 2016, the airline has expanded its network by adding several destinations and increasing frequency, as well as up-gauging its services to wide-body operations.

“Malaysia Airlines continues to fly up to 40,000 passengers daily as a result of a significant increase in the number of flights operated by the national airline.”

Although the company plans to expand, it did not clarify the number of people they plan to recruit or if they plan to rehire staff who were laid off in 2015.

The airline has already had three job fairs this year to recruit cabin crew in Penang, Melaka, and Pahang. Now, the next recruitment fair for cabin crew will take place tomorrow (10th February) in Petaling Jaya.
