When we think of food prepared unhygienically, we usually find ingredients that are not supposed to be there, and with the typical suspects tending to be hair and insects.

It is always a nightmare discovering these unwanted ingredients in our food because it brings up scenarios of how nasty the food preparation process must have been for the extra flavours to be unintentionally added into the food.

We can imagine how a strand of hair or a fly could have escaped the eyes of kitchen staff, but how do we justify finding a condom in a bowl of chicken curry?!

Yesterday, Singapore Incidents shared a picture of a condom coated in what appeared to be curry on their page.

Next to the condom was a bowl of chicken curry, and when you connect the dots, it appears that someone had found a condom in their food!

The irony is that what is made to offer protection has made the consumer feel the total opposite of protected and safe.

Netizens’ clever comments

Nonetheless, netizens were entertained by the incident and took the opportunity to unleash their creativity by making various jokes and puns about the discovery.

Some netizens made wordplays on the protection aspect of the condom and said, “At least you know the food is protected and safe to eat.”

That’s the real reason why there’s a chicken shortage in Malaysia. All the cocks are doing family planning,” said a user.

“There was a lack of coconut milk, so the main chef asked the assistant chef to get the coconut milk.” said another user.

We hope that the condom is at least unused!
