The general perception of home-cooked meals is that it is healthier because we can control the amount of salt, sugar and processed ingredients that go into our meals.

However, it is always nice to dine out occasionally as it requires less effort.

But when more and more news of contaminated restaurant food keeps popping up, it becomes increasingly difficult for customers to trust restaurants’ hygiene practices.

The secret ingredient

Recently, WORLD OF BUZZ received news of a customer’s unpleasant dining experience at a restaurant in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

According to the customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, she and her boyfriend were at a nasi kandar restaurant in Pusat Dagangan Seremban 2 when they made a horrible discovery.

During their visit on August 4, 2022 (Thursday), they found a hidden ingredient in their nasi kandar order.

It turns out that there were dead flies in their nasi kandar!

Disgusted by their discovery, the couple immediately stopped eating.

They asked the restaurant staff about the flies, to which one worker replied, “This is normal here, boss. Look at all the food; they’re all left open. How can we control the flies? There’s nothing we can do.”

So, the couple suggested that the restaurant at least place a cover over the food.

However, the worker shut them down by saying, “We’ve already told the boss many times.”

The restaurant did not bother apologising or compensating the couple for their distasteful experience.

“We ate almost half of the food. How does this kind of restaurant even get government licenses to operate? I have no idea!” expressed the couple.

Restaurants should be more responsible in ensuring that their food is clean!
