This year’s Ramadan bazaars appear to be filled with issues of hygiene and food safety. From using pipe water for air balang, to the multiple reports of spoiled and rotten food which have caused Malaysians to get food poisoning.
In a similar case, a netizen recently took to Facebook to share something horrifying he found in his murtabak which was bought at a Ramadan bazaar.
In a post on the Padang Serai Kedah Facebook group, the man praised the murtabak he bought and said that it was delicious.
However, he was shocked to find that there was extra filling inside which came in the form of two 10 cent coins.
“Luckily I didn’t choke… I don’t want to find fault, I just wanted to share the story,” wrote the man on Facebook.
Refund process
The post has since gone viral on social media as netizens took to the comments to share their two-cents on the matter. A couple of users made jokes regarding the incident whilst others saw it in a more serious manner.
“Wow, it’s discounted by 20 sens.”
“They’re donating in secret. Smart way for them to look for blessings,” joked another user.
Meanwhile, another netizen shared how they had encountered the very same thing when they had their murtabak for sahur.
