It’s always touching when teachers go the extra mile for their students!

According to a report by the Straits Times, a teenage boy from China miraculously woke up from a 15 month-long coma, thanks to his teacher’s love and dedication.

Earlier last year in February, young Zhang Haojie suffered a cerebral hemorrhage that made him lose consciousness and fall into a coma.

He then had to undergo three operations, though doctors were not optimistic about his situation and told his parents that he may never wake up.

Haojie’s teacher, Ms. Tong, had the biggest heart ever. She heard about the devastating news and immediately decided to help raise 20,000 yuan (approximately RM12,500) to pay for his treatment.

On top of that, she even paid her student a visit in the hospital after school nearly every day for 15 months, and would tell him what happened at school.

“There was a mock exam in class today,” she would say. “If you had taken it, you would have been in the top five like you used to.”

She would even talk to him about what was served during meal times at school, letting him know when his favourite meals were served and funny things that happened during class.

Haojie’s father reportedly said that his son would blink and sometimes even smile whenever Ms. Tong spoke to him while he was under a coma.

After 15 hard months, Haojie was finally able to regain consciousness. Although he still has a long way to go, doctors say that he would be able to take care of himself after rehabilitation.

We’re so happy that this boy’s story has a happy ending! All the best to Haojie on his road to recovery! We also salute the teacher for her big kind heart towards her pupil.
