A bunch of locals rushed to grab eggs that spilt everywhere after a truck skidded and flipped over when it got hit by another truck at Kilometer 293.8 of the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), near the Chukai Toll Plaza exit.
According to Utusan Malaysia, the incident happened on February 19 at around 5:30 AM, but luckily, the truck driver and his assistant weren’t hurt.

The truck was carrying 2,500 trays of eggs
The truck assistant, Izzat, said he and his friend were on their way to deliver eggs from Raub, Pahang, to Kuala Terengganu when a frozen goods truck crashed into them from behind, causing their truck to skid off the road and overturn.
At the scene, there were broken eggs everywhere, and some people even brought baskets to collect them so they wouldn’t go to waste.
“We were carrying about 2,500 trays, which is around 78,000 eggs. Since a lot of them got damaged, the company owner said people could take them,” Izzat said.

The public started collecting the eggs
Azimah, a highway user, said she first thought it was a serious accident when she saw multiple cars parked by the roadside.
“But when I saw people picking up eggs, I joined in. It felt like a lucky find to bring some home for my family,” she said.
Meanwhile, another local resident, Ariffin, said he and his son rushed over after seeing a viral video of the incident on social media.
“Before coming, I made sure the company allowed people to take the eggs. If they didn’t, I wouldn’t have taken any,” he said.
He explained how he managed to collect quite a lot and said some would come in handy for Ramadan preparations.
“I’ll share the rest with my neighbors. It’d be a waste to leave them since many are still good, just need a little sorting,” he added.
