The 2020 Presidential Elections has gotten a lot of people not only in the USA itself anxious but everyone else across the world. As of now, Joe Biden seems to be in the lead for the President’s seat but with Trump gaining control of Florida, there are talks that this election might end with a hairline win.

However, we’re not here to talk about the elections, we’re here to talk about a local politician who seemed to have strong thoughts about what’s going on in the USA. At 1.45pm today (3 November), President Donald Trump tweeted that he will be making a big statement tonight, a BIG WIN!

Of course, this was a premature announcement by the President and whatever this statement might indicate, we’re not to assume until the official results are out. However, Pasir Mas Parliament Member, Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, re-tweeted that Trump is “Strong, Formidable and Convincing”. Not only that, but he also added that he hoped that President Donald Trump would be re-elected.

A netizen in the comment section questioned him as to why he’s pledging his support to Trump and his reply was that Trump’s win would render America weaker.

“Both of them are formidable candidates but if Trump wins, America will grow weaker. There wasn’t a weaker moment for America politically and economically as when Trump was president.”

Unsurprisingly, netizens in the comments section felt that this justification was not enough as Trump has famously proclaimed many anti-Muslim statements.

“As I recall, Trump is the one who wanted to chase all Muslims out of the USA. I didn’t know that chasing Muslims out is praiseworthy behaviour.”

The Muslim Ban or officially known as Executive Order 13769, titled Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States was in effect from January 2017 until March 2017. Trump had temporarily called for the banning of Muslims from entering the country after the 2015 San Bernadino terrorist attack.

Meanwhile, if you’re wondering why the statement seemed so familiar, look no further because these were the exact words of PKR president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently when he announced on 23 September that he has documented proof that he holds a “strong, formidable and convincing” majority of support from the MPs to form a new government.

What do you think of this statement by the PAS politician? Also, who do you think should be POTUS? Let us know in the comments section!
