Imagine you’re in a rush or when parking space is scarce. Then, you manage to find a spot, only to discover that a trolley happens to be there before you can even park your vehicle.
Recently, in the Facebook group Penduduk Sungai Petani (PSP), a Malaysian shared an image of abandoned trolleys on a couple of parking spots, which brought inconvenience to the visitors of Lotus Supermarket at Bandar Puteri Jaya, Sungai Petani, Kedah.
‘Dear trolley users, do you really expect a coolie to clear the trolleys for you? I had to make another round to look for parking spots before getting down from my car to move the trolleys away!’
We often push the trolleys to the designated area OR at least move them to a place where the stacks of trolleys will not occupy the parking spots. Not only that but the used trolleys are also not supposed to obstruct the traffic.
‘Dear shoppers, clear the trolleys yourself’
The image has gained the attention of many Malaysians and a lot of them agreed that as shoppers who have used the trolleys, it is our responsibility to move the trolleys back to the designated area.
‘If they know how to use it, then they should know how to put it back to where it belongs. It’s not even far. Now they are just leaving the trolleys wherever they have parked.’
‘They have a designated spot for the used trolleys. I usually move it there once I unload my stuff from the trolleys into my car.’
‘Lazy & selfish. Just push it somewhere the workers can conveniently take them back. Sometimes I wonder, don’t they feel anything knowing that it was going to cause us trouble?’
‘It’s not wrong to ease the life of others. The workers who collect the trolleys, they’re human and they’re tired too.’
Do you think shoppers should take the initiative to clear their own trolleys?
