A Malaysian woman recently took to social media to warn others of a distressing incident she experienced after finishing a jog in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur.

In her Threads post, user @mm_taktau claimed she was approached by an unknown man on a motorcycle who asked for help charging his phone after its battery had died.

A Malaysian woman met a stranger who asked for help charging his phone

mm_taktau recalled agreeing to help the man charge his phone in her car after feeling she could trust him, as he appeared to be working and mentioned being a father.

“He asked if he could charge his phone in my car. I agreed because I had just overheard him on a call with his child, saying, ‘Wait, dad’s still working,’ and I could hear a child’s voice on the other end.

“From the way he looked, he seemed like he was genuinely working at the time, the kind of on-the-go job like a mechanic, as his hands were dirty with oil. He had just ended a call with his child, saying he was working, so my not-so-smart brain simply assumed that was the case. On top of that, I was tired after just finishing my jog,” she wrote.

She added that while waiting for the stranger’s phone to charge, they made some small talk that later took an uncomfortable turn.

“I let him charge his phone in my car while he stayed outside. I can confirm his phone was completely dead. We chatted a bit, and at first he spoke normally, but later the conversation shifted. I tried to brush it off and not think negatively,” she explained.

“I caught him watching porn on his phone”

mm_taktau then claimed that once his phone had enough charge to power on, she noticed him scrolling through it, and things escalated when he began making vulgar remarks.

“I waited until the battery went up a little because I was worried that if something happened after he left, his phone might die again. Once it turned on, he started scrolling through his phone.

“But that’s when things got weird. He started saying perverted things, and his behaviour completely changed.”

To her horror, she realised the man was actually watching porn on his phone when she discreetly glanced at it.

“I looked at his phone and saw he was watching porn. Once I caught him, my brain connected the dots with what he had said earlier. I scolded him, unplugged the charging cable, and rolled up the car window.”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, mm_taktau explained that she chose not to file a police report after consulting a friend who works as an officer with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

“After the incident, I spoke with my friend, who is a police officer. I was advised not to take any action since the man didn’t physically harm me but only used vulgar words and watched porn on his phone in front of me,” she said.

She also shared a word of caution for women, urging them to stay alert, as the man may still be looking to target solo joggers in the area.
