Recently, Suria KLCC had proudly revealed their Chinese New Year decorations in the form of an outdoor pagoda.
However, the decorations were slammed by netizens who felt that they had failed to consult anyone from the Chinese community for reference before setting it up and being disrespectful to the Chinese culture.
When the pagoda was first introduced, it stood tall with green painted roofs and lanterns hanging all around it.
Much to their dismay, netizens began expressing their disappointment when the outdoor decoration stood tall but it was deemed to be giving off a “Qing Ming” vibe.
This urged the mall’s management to quickly make changes to their display by repainting the roof to a golden yellow and adding more lanterns.
The CNY decorations inside of the mall are impressive
Despite everything, the festive decorations inside Suria KLCC is simply stunning. Two imperial guardian lions stand proudly upfront and behind them is a beautiful temple inspired structure.
All of this is surrounded by cherry blossoms making the whole setting feel as if we’re standing in a completely different world.
Kudos to Suria KLCC for quickly taking action to make things right and to improve their CNY decorations.
