The Ministry of Health (KKM) will soon sign a contract to signify their full ownership of the MySejahtera application.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar shared that the full ownership of the app by the government is in line with the recommendations of the National Accounts Committee (PAC).
According to a report by Kosmo, he said that the move would eliminate any doubts in regards to the ownership of the app, especially regarding the security of the data gathered by the app.
“I have made sure that all those matters can be resolved before I leave this ministry. The Ministry of Health has tried to transfer MySejahtera from the National Security Council (MKN) to this ministry so that the issue of data ownership or security has been resolved,” he explained.
Additionally, PAC also shared that the MySejahtera app should be used as a national public health management tool in line with the digitalisation plan for health services, especially considering that over the past few months, other features have been included besides Covid-19 tracking, such as blood donation and organ donation.
Khairy shared that the addition of these features is a transition to highlight MySejahtera as a public health app.
