It’s about 6 months away before fans of Coldplay get to enjoy their performance which is scheduled for November at Stadium Bukit Jalil. That’s still a pretty long time to go but the endless calls for a ban on the concert have been going on since the announcement itself.
Former Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin, who is now a radio DJ recently told politicians from PAS to stop debating about Coldplay’s performance.
“If you don’t want to go, then don’t go”
In a recent podcast session on Keluar Sekejap, Khairy and another politician, Shahril Hamdan discusses other issues before answering a query from the listeners who spoke about Coldplay’s performance, which prompted Khairy to send a friendly reminder to the leaders who have been calling others NOT to attend the show.
“Can you guys stop talking about it? If you don’t want to go to Coldplay’s concert, then don’t go.”
KJ also clarified that not all leaders from the party are the same.
In response to statements that claimed Coldplay’s show does not bring any benefit to the country, KJ took the opportunity to deny the claim and said that it helps in boosting the tourism sector in Malaysia.
“It’s a large scale event. Fans from neighbouring countries will spend to come here and watch the show,” KJ explained.
If you have got your hands on the tickets (or haven’t), you’ll probably remember that the tickets were sold out within 3 hours on the 1st day itself! Given how quickly the tickets were sold out, KJ said that it has proven how huge of a fanbase the British band has in Malaysia.
“If Coldplay is willing to perform for a 2nd round here, it’s definitely going to boost the economy here,” he added.
You can listen to the podcast below where KJ speaks about Coldplay from the 41:12 mark.
