A kind woman in China took the initiative to disembark from her car and help an old man cross the road. However, in return, she was slapped by the old man.

The senior citizen was seen carrying bags and stumbling while walking in Lanzhou, China, on 12 September. Many cars did not give way to the man because he was not walking on a zebra crossing.

A woman in China helps an elderly man cross the road, but gets slapped by him in return

The woman, who was in the passenger seat of a car, got down to help him cross the road, and used her left arm to support him while her right arm waved traffic past.

She was too stunned to speak after the old man turned back to slap her, and the slap was so hard that her glasses flew off.

Instead of confronting the senior citizen, the woman picked up her glasses on the ground and returned to her car. The video was filmed by another driver via his dashcam, who was parked behind the woman’s car, and the clip circulated online.

“The elderly man looked 80 years old and certainly had difficulty walking. He was walking across the road. My car was waiting behind hers, and no driver honked at the time.”

The local police found the man

The woman and her husband, however, decided to lodge a police report about the matter. The local authorities were able to locate the man and told him to apologise to the woman for slapping her, reported HK01 and ST Headline.

A witness claimed the two people involved didn’t know each other at all, and that the woman had pulled over and kindly gotten out to help the elderly man.
