There is always a silver lining to every cloud, and that most certainly is the case with the Wuhan novel coronavirus outbreak. Not only have healthcare professionals worked tirelessly to ensure that we stay safe, but even regular citizens have taken it upon themselves to ensure that the virus can hopefully be stopped in its tracks.

One such act of kindness comes from fellow netizen Mustaqim Kumar Abdullah Sooria, who recently took it upon himself to wash and clean the children’s playground equipment at a local park in Section U8, Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam.

Why did he go to these lengths, you wonder? Well, Mustaquim explains that he did so to ensure that the playground equipment around the park area was safe for use among the young children within the community, so that they can void being infected with any possible viruses, especially the Wuhan novel coronavirus.

“That morning, many people laughed at me for washing up the playground equipment myself,” he said.

“But do you know why I volunteered to wash the equipment? I did it so that the children living in our area would not be infected by the Wuhan novel coronavirus, which has already claimed so many lives.”

In a series of photos, he shows how he single-handedly scrubs down an entire playground with soap and water, ensuring that the surfaces that children will most often come into contact with are clean.

Despite him saying that people have laughed at him for doing what he did, his post has since garnered the praise of many fellow Malaysians, who supported and cheered him on, praising him for his willingness to go the extra mile to help the local community.

Which comes to show that a little bit of kindness really does go a long way! To Mr Mustaqim, we tip our hats in thanks for your service to the community!
