Kindness goes a long way, and this bus driver’s actions have surely made her passengers’ day better.

In a Facebook post by a netizen in Singapore, a kind bus driver’s actions were highlighted and commended.

The post from the beginning of May stated that everyone was waiting for the bus when it started raining.

When the bus came, the bus driver went to the door and brought out her trusty umbrella to shelter the passengers from the rain.

One of the passengers who was really touched said, “you are so kind” to which she answered, “don’t worry, it’s my job.”

After no one left, the driver moved to the seat and wanted to drive away. When she saw a girl in uniform running in the rain to catch the bus, she came out of her seat again with the umbrella to shelter the child.

According to a follow-up post by SBS Transit, the bus driver is Captain Yang Mei Hong, who has 14 years of experience and is well-known for her “warm heart.”

It is said that Mei Hong always shelters passengers from the rain as she is concerned about the possibility of children and the elderly slipping and falling when boarding the bus.

When asked about it, she says:

“I want to help and take care of my passengers because I see them as family.”

This certainly made us feel all warm and fuzzy. Remember, kindness doesn’t have to cost anything, and what goes around always comes around.
