Let’s face it, Malaysian drivers can be pretty ‘kepoh‘ on the road when accidents happen. We’re sure it’s one of the major causes of traffic jams here!

Although there have certainly been cases involving Malaysian drivers being courteous on the road in the event of an accident, many of us don’t realise just how dangerous it actually is when we’re paying too much attention to an accident on the road. Take this recent incident for example!

According to the New Straits Times, a policeman in Penang, who was driving a motorcycle, was attempting to avoid a vehicle in front of him before he rammed into the back of a stationary factory bus yesterday (5th March).

Then, on the other side of the road, two motorcyclists heading towards Sungai Tiram, had their attention drawn towards the accident and ended up crashing into each other!

The motorcyclists, a 16-year-old student and a 40-year-old man, escaped the accident with minor injuries according to Southwest district police chief Superintendent A. Anbalagan, who added,

“The student was sent to the Penang Hospital while the other victim received treatment at a nearby clinic.”

Well, we’re glad both of them came out relatively unscathed.

Let’s just take this as a valuable lesson to never get distracted by accidents while on the road. Not only could it build up traffic at the inconvenience of others, but it could come at even greater cost!

Now stop being so ‘kepoh’ on the road and just move along, guys!
