Fortunately, the flood situation in Kelantan has vastly improved, with the number of flood victims dropping to 33,712, as of 9 AM today (December 5).
A Kelantanese woman, in the meantime, had something to say about social media users who made insensitive comments about the flood situation in the state. In her viral Tiktok post @nrbnr_, Nina said,
“I’m just wondering, are Kelantanese so bad that you have to insult us every time a flood happens? Netizens always think they’re right and know the most.”
Words hurt, and they make or break someone’s day. In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Nina said she has seen a lot of comments bashing the state and its people whenever flood hits, and there is nothing she could do but try her best to avoid it.
“There is a lot of hurtful comments, but I chose to turn a blind eye on them. I try to think positive because we can’t shut their mouths.”
When asked about the comment that she remembers the most, Nina said she was “amazed” by comments blaming the state leaders for not taking action to help the flood victims during the disaster.
“The netizens even included verses from the Holy Quran, stating that the disaster is a punishment, when it is actually the monsoon season.”
Nina also pinned one of the most impactful comments on her social media, in which the social media user said, “a backward and stupid state,” to which Nina merely responded with,
“It’s okay. Good day to you, sir.”
Nina also told WORLD OF BUZZ that there are more insulting remarks that people can find in the comment sections of her post. When asked about the flood condition there, Nina said the floodwater has receded, but at the time of writing, the rain is still pouring.

We wish the flood victims across the country a speedy recovery from the aftermath of the disaster.
