Following a recent video by Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yussof, who revealed that many Kelantan-based product founders and influencers are involved in drug trafficking and money laundering, the state’s Mufti has also released a statement barring donations from the aforementioned sources.

According to Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad, “Donations derived from unlawful sources cannot be accepted.”

He explained, “In Islam, there are three important elements for those who wish to donate: intention, objective, and the method of donation. All three elements must be aligned.”

Noting that there are many wealthy individuals coming into the foray sharing their desire to donate, the Mufti had this to say.

“Do not be easily deceived by these groups without verifying the source of their money.”

Recently, a video made by the Kelantan Police Chief made waves in the state, shedding light on how some cosmetic entrepreneurs and influencers are involved in drug distribution and money laundering.

He added that Kelantan has long been a key route for smuggling activities due to its location, which borders Thailand.
