A secondary school teacher in Kedah was caught behaving inappropriately with one of his female students, who is 17 years old.

In a Facebook post by Malaysian former teacher Mohd Fadli Salleh, he shared the police report lodged by the student herself about the misbehaviour of her teacher, who allegedly uttered inappropriate words to the female students in his classroom.

So, here’s what happened before the police report was lodged.

“Come closer, and button my shirt”

In the police report that was lodged in October, the student claimed that the teacher did not teach according to the syllabus, but spoke on irrelevant matters, which came with inappropriate words, such as “cute bra and panties,” “boobs,” and others that made the victim uncomfortable.

On one occasion, which happened in August this year, she also said that the teacher told her to come closer to him to button his shirt, before he shifted the conversation to politics, and told the students not to vote for the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS).

The student, along with her friends, then reached out to two other teachers to tell them about the matter, who then escalated the matter to the headmaster.

Several teachers get transferred to other schools

In the police report, the student mentioned that after the matter had reached the knowledge of the headmaster, the latter sarcastically asked, “So, how are you going to solve this issue?”

Unhappy with the response, the student brought the matter to the Secretary of Student Affairs (HEP), who then filed a report to the District’s Education Office (PPD). However, someone from HEP came to see the student and her peers to warn them not to escalate the matter further, especially to the police.

“It would affect the teacher’s career,” the student was told.

The male teacher who made the inappropriate remark was not seen in the school for two months, and on 2 October, the student found out that the teacher had been transferred to another school.

Unfortunately, three other teachers who helped report the issue were also reportedly transferred to other schools two weeks later, without solid reasons.

On 21 October, the student lodged a police report about the matter, in the hope that the State Education Department (JPN) would investigate the matter thoroughly.
