Finally, some good news!
In a report by Koreaboo, rapper Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P) has woken up and has been walking around his hospital room according to a statement by the Ehwa Women’s University Hospital.
The K-pop star reportedly regained consciousness yesterday and could be discharged as early as today.
The hospital’s statement read,
“T.O.P is currently conscious and it appears he will be able to leave the ICU very soon.”
Moving forward from this, T.O.P has the option to either remain in his current hospital or admit himself to another hospital for treatment.
According to the report, he will be receiving psychological treatment once he leaves the ICU.
News of T.O.P’s recent overdose and subsequent hospital admission sparked mass attention and worry among fans from all over the world.
The BIG BANG member reportedly overdosed on benzodiazepines, a drug used to treat insomnia, anxiety disorders and seizures, just to name a few.
He was rushed to the hospital three days ago (6th June) when he was found unconscious and was immediately transferred to the ICU due to his unresponsive state.
His friends believe that the overdose was a result of the immense amount of stress he was facing due to his ongoing drug scandal, which he is currently being investigated for.
One of his friends was quoted saying,
“He was having a hard time due to recent events and I think his stress had reached a breaking point. It’s very unfortunate and I hope he wakes up soon.”
Many thought T.O.P’s condition took a turn for the worse when his mother recently criticised the media for misreporting about her son’s health.
At that time, she said he wasn’t in a ‘deep sleep’ but was in fact, unconscious and close to dying due to the lack of oxygen his body was getting.
Thankfully, he’s on the road to a full recovery now and will be getting psychological help as well. Speedy recovery, oppa!
