JUST IN: Gyms, Badminton Courts, Golf Ranges Allowed To Operate Starting 12 February

In his live press conference today, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, announced that after a discussion with the Sports Ministry, they have decided to allow a few sporting activities during the MCO such as the following:

  • Jogging
  • Brisk walking
  • Cycling and exercise (limited to two people and only in their neighbourhood)
  • Football, basketball, Hockey, Takraw (self-training ONLY)

Besides that, tennis courts, badminton courts, gymnasiums and golf ranges will also be allowed to open starting from tomorrow (12 February).  However, earlier booking or appointments must be made at these centres and no walk-ins are allowed.

Patrons are not allowed to share the equipment and in the gym, the equipment must be at least 2 metres apart from each other. Equipment must also be sanitised and the changing rooms are not to be used. The usual SOPs including taking of temperature and registering with MySejahtera must be obeyed by business owners.
