It’s a plotline straight out of a fantasy movie: an ordinary individual walks into a lottery shop, places a small bet, and wins a huge, life-changing sum of money. That’s what happened to a Johorean woman, who placed a RM2 bet on two sets of 4D numbers, and walked away with a whopping RM12.3 million!

China Press reported that the winning numbers were 1559 and 7886, which are digits the woman has favoured in the past when placing a bet. She said, “It must be the Chinese New Year’s good luck that made me the lucky winner of this grand prize. Until now, I can’t believe that I got to win this prize by paying only RM2.”

Now that her bank account has expanded by more than a few zeroes, what does the winner plan to do with it? According to The Sun Daily, she intends to keep her job, while sharing the winnings with her children and buy some properties. Sounds like wise financial planning to us!

She’s not the only lucky winner who benefited from the same jackpot, however, as there’s another winner who took home RM1.06 million with an i-System ticket! For the uninitiated, i-System is one of the platforms that players can use to bet to increase their chances of winning. In the case of this 40-year-old manager, love was literally the key, as he bet with the numbers 7886 and 8875 – digits that belong to his girlfriend’s phone number.

He had spent RM48 to buy an i-System 24 ticket, and luckily for him, that pocketed him an extra RM644.40! Some people really do have all the luck eh.

News like this really puts a smile on our face amidst all the doom and gloom that’s happening elsewhere! We hope these lucky individuals can use their newfound winnings for good. Guess the rest of us just have to get our heads out of the clouds and keep working hard!
