According to a report by Malaysiakini, a man jumped out of the third floor of a budget hotel in Johor Bahru on Monday night (29 April 2019) in an attempt to escape the Jabatan Agama Islam Negeri Johor (JAINJ) during a khalwat raid conducted by the religious body in anticipation of Labour Day.
Halid Sono, the JAINJ Assistant Director of Syariah Enforcement commented that it was suspected that the man went out through the bathroom window of his budget hotel room and jumped out of the third floor by himself before running away and leaving his lover behind.
