Dogs are friendly animals that are very popular with many people, in addition to that, they can be very smart as well.
Recently, a group of 16 university classmates went on a very memorable hike at Gunung Angsi in Negeri Sembilan.
Out of the 16 people, only one of them had climbed Gunung Angsi before and it was probably due to the fact that they had accidentally went for the more challenging Gunung Angsi trail that starts from Ulu Bendul.
Do note that Gunung Angsi is classified as a HARD trail on AllTrails.
With the group being as large as it was, everyone had different stamina levels, they commenced the hike at 9am and by 1pm, 2 of the team members were already exhausted. They slowed their pace so that everyone would stay together as a group.
As they thought that this was just a simple hike of 825m, they only brought a limited supply of water and snacks that were also depleted by 1pm. At 4pm, they reached the highest point of Gunung Angsi.
According to China Press who talked to one of the hikers, Liu, he said that, “At that time, one of the members volunteered to move forward and check the path but suddenly, he heard the roar of an animal resembling a tiger or a black panther.”
“His instincts were telling him that there is probably a predator lying in wait and he went back to the group to warn us.”
As the day got darker, their luck got worse as it started raining on their way back. They also encountered a pool of stagnant water that looked foamy and had a fishy smell.
It was at that time that they heard a bark from a white dog. The good-natured doggo followed and guided the group at times. Sometimes it was in front, and sometimes it was at the back but it always stuck close to the group.
On the way down, the group also came across some big paw prints on the ground as well as animal faeces that were fresh. They were definitely terrified at this point and this fear kept them moving along.
At 7pm, they finally managed to reach the foot of Gunung Angsi. The doggo stood on the top of the staircase which connects to the Ulu Bendul Park entrance and it appeared as if it was smiling at them while saying goodbye.
Unfortunately, they did not have any food on them to feed the guardian dog.
Liu said that after the experience, all of the group members agreed that the doggo is a guardian angel that was sent by God to protect them as his presence alone felt very reassuring to the group of university students.
Well, this tale certainly brought tears to our eyes! Have you ever had any experience that was similar to this before? Let us know in the comments.
