In a statement circulated and recorded by Dato’ Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja, Istana Negara, the statement writes, “In a meeting that took about one and a half hours, Al-Sultan Abdullah understands the plight of the nation’s administrative body to fight the threat of Covid-19. The Seri Paduka Baginda is also mindful of the hardships and uncertainty of the rakyat following the latest development.”

“Al-Sultan Abdullah will consult with the country’s eight other state rulers before arriving at a decision.”

“Al-Sultan Abdullah advises the rakyat to keep calm, not panic and have patience in facing recent events while awaiting the decision for the suggestions made.”

“The rakyat is also advised not to make speculations that may trigger confusion and unrest up to the point that it may be detrimental to the nation’s peace.”

In the statement, the Sultan has also repeated his previous advise for the rakyat to continue adhering to SOPs in place to break the Covid-19 chain.
