Sports day!
The most highly anticipated event of any school year! The time when you can be the star or watch your crush be the star. The time when best friends become enemies. The mini-games, the food stalls and how can we forget, the rumah sukan tent competition!
Be it day school or boarding school, teachers and students will work hand in hand to decorate their tent according to the theme and their respective colour all week long, and sometimes even a month ahead in preparation.
This school, however, took it to the next level!
As posted by Pendidik Majalah on Twitter, Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahmah, also known as STAR, Ipoh, creatively made never before seen, spectacular buildings to decorated their tents and synced them according to the theme and colour.

It’s a fierce battle
Apparently STAR has 6 sport houses altogether, and they came up with ‘houses’ themed after various cultures from around the globe. Who in the world came up with this?

“For everyone’s information, STAR sport houses were divided into two hemispheres which are; Northen and Southern.
Northen: Green, Blue, and Black
Southern: Red, White, and Yellow
Below is a picture of the 2012 best-decorated tent: White Vigour.”
Of course, it evoked old memories
The readers couldn’t help but reminisce about their own experiences in their school days and wish that they could’ve made it better.
“Back in the day, we would just pitch the tent and sign… And done… All of the students would be too busy playing sports… We don’t have the time to decorate like this.”
“One of the best boarding school culture… Mostly the kids would work on it… The teachers would monitor us… We even ask for an exemption from prep for a week cause we want to complete it… Haha…”
